Trip To Granna's For Fun In The Sun!

We decided to head to FL for the Labor Day weekend.  Left on Friday evening headed to Granna's.  The leaving part was shaky at best.  Took forever to get loaded up, Todd and I were having a.....let's say disagreement about how to pack the car up, need to make a quick Target run, had to retrieve children from daycare and Paw Paw's and needed to eat dinner.  Afterwards we decided since it was after 7:00 we would go ahead and get everyone ready for "bed" and maybe have a nice quiet trip to Granna's.  Pj's on, movie in, off we go.  The trip down actually was not that bad once we got headed in that direction.  Cole Baby slept and the rest of us just chilled out.  Of course this means that once we arrived at 11:30 everyone was wide awake! Lucky for us so were Granna and Grandaddy!  An hour, hour and half later we're all crawling in bed. Saturday was a big day......Cole Baby's first trip to the beach, Em's first trip to the beach in a long time (it rained when she was at Granna's in June - and she had a broke arm, remember?) and football season! We started the day at The Coffee Cup, a little diner that has excellent breakfast.  My parent's should know they eat there almost every time they head to the beach.  It was as good as they said it would be!  I do recommend the pecan pancakes if you ever have the opportunity to eat there. Then we're off to the beach.....right after a stop by Publix for drinks and snacks.  My BIL, Chris, meets us at the beach. Emily had a great time with lots of playmates.  Cole did not mind the sand at all but was not a fan of the ocean.  Finally Todd just took out there crying and all.  Once he got use to it he loved it.  Floated around for a good little while playing with me. It was then time to head home to get cleaned up, make some "football food" and watch Bama whoop up on Michigan.  Sunday we all went to church (except my brother...probably too much fun on Saturday for him) and then to lunch at this jazz restaurant called 5 Sisters.  The food was good and the music was even better. That afternoon we celebrated Cole's birthday and decided to spend another night.  The original plan was to come home that evening but we stayed and left early this morning. Below are a few pictures.

the beach.

This is not the best picture but
it is too funny!  She has this very
serious look on her face. Doesn't
she look like such a beach bum!

and Chris behind us talking.

Emily buried Uncle Chris in the sand!
