The Rest Of Our Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day my post was about Dixie Dog so let me catch you up on the rest of our holiday weekend.  Friday Todd headed to the farm to help Gramps cut and bale hay.  The Myrick girls spent the night with Emily. This was a big treat for us.  Mary Grace has spent the night before but Katie Anne has not. So we ate pizza, watched a movie and played.....A LOT. Cole loved all of the attention that he got......for all of 15 minutes! Then they were off doing their girl stuff.  But that's okay because that meant I had my little man all to myself.  Saturday morning we went and ate breakfast before taking the Myrick girls home.  Todd went back to the farm that afternoon and we went to lunch and shopping with Nana. First we ate lunch at Urban Cookhouse at The Summit.  I love this place!  They have wonderful orange rolls.  I was turned onto this restaurant when I was pregnant by my girlfriend, Kathy Jo.  They have a Berry Salad that I could live on.  It's cut greens with spiced pecans, feta cheese, fresh strawberries, blueberries and blackberries with a citrus dressing.  If you add a scoop of chicken salad to it it is the best thing ever!  Saturday I opted for the Berry Wrap......same thing as the salad only with grilled chicken on a wheat wrap. We needed to return some shorts that Em received for her birthday that didn't fit so after lunch we headed up to the Gap.  We ended up spending about 2 hours there shopping and trying on clothes.  Thank God for Nana!  She was able to sit and tend to Cole so that I could shop and help Emily.  We left there and headed to the Target on 280 because I was looking for a dress that I really want and our Target doesn't have the color I want in the size that I need.  Unfortunately, they didn't have it either.  After dinner Saturday I talked Todd and the kids into riding over to the Trussville Target to look for the dress.  No luck :( but it wasn't a wasted trip since we needed baby food, diapers, wipes, etc.  After church on Sunday we stayed for Ms. Belva's lunch and off to the McCalla Target we go for my dress.  Called ahead of time and had them hold it for me! Todd made another trip to the farm where he got stung on the lip by a wasp.....OMG, you should have seen his face.  I will post a picture below but it really doesn't do it justice. Sunday evening Em and I went grocery shopping and Todd went to bed after 50 mg of Benadryl.  Monday was sad because of Dixie but ended on a better note.  We cooked out and were able to spend a nice laid back afternoon and evening at home enjoying some family time.

Hugs,
Keely
