Emily woke us up at 6:45 on Christmas morning! How crazy is that? The child never wakes up that early but I suppose the excitement of Santa and gifts was more than she could stand. We had Santa and exchanged presents. Then Maw Maw and Paw Paw came over for brunch and more presents. Once they left we played a couple of games, napped and watched a movie before getting cleaned up. Nana and Gramps arrived around 5:30 for a nice quiet evening.
I must admit that this was the most relaxing Christmas we have had. Usually Christmas Day consist of go, go, go, go until we can't go any more. It seems to take some of the joy out of it but this year was different. We never left the house.....actually, Emily didn't even take her pj's off! We had previously done Christmas with our extended family so we just hung out and took it easy. Relaxed played with toys and enjoyed each other's company. I hope that we have many more Christmas's just like it!
