The AL/TN Game

We went to Knoxville for the AL/TN game.  My first trip to Neyland Stadium!  We went with friends who live in TN between Shelbyville and Lewisburg (I hope that I have that correct.....if not, it's Todd's fault).  Therefore, it was decided that we would drive to the Wilhelm's house and we could all ride over to Knoxville together.  The trip over was great.  Kristin chauffeured us so we could just relax and chit chat!  It was a very pretty drive.  Once we arrived in Knoxville we checked into our hotel, freshened up and we headed off to the stadium.  I was quite impressed with Knoxville, the UT campus and the stadium.  Our seats were not together so once inside we went our separate ways until half way through the 4th quarter.  At which time we decided that we would not ask Richard and Kristin to endure anymore of the game (since our team was beating theirs).  Besides, we were hungry and I wanted to beat the crowd.  We left for Calhoun's where we had a late dinner.  Kristin toured us down "the strip" and then we were back at the hotel for some much needed sleep.  After a wonderful pancake breakfast at Cracker Barrel on Sunday we made our back across TN.  We took a different route back and went over (or through or around or whatever it is you say) Monteagle Mountain.......GORGEOUS!  Mom, this is your fall foliage place!  After leaving the Wilhelm's we took the "back way" to the interstate.  I am sure so that Todd could look at all of the wildlife.....deer, turkey.  Then we stopped for some pecan cobbler at Sarge's but they were out.  How sad was I?  Pecan cobbler.....has to be good, right?  Don't know.......I have never had any but I am going back to Nashville in a few weeks on business so you can bet that I will be making a stop.  I'll let y'all know what I think about it.  We were then headed home to see our girl and carve a pumpkin!

This sweet guy sitting next to us was nice enough to take
this picture for us.  You may not be able to tell but we were
in a sea of orange!

This one is for all of you Vols fans!  It really is pretty cool how
the band forms a T before the game and the football players
come running out.  Richard says they do it at every game.

Next to the river prior to the game.
