Our Weekend

For a weekend that started off a little rocky it turned out to be quite all right.  Friday evening Aunt Toni asked Em to be her date at the high school homecoming game.  A big treat for Little Priss since she so longs to be older than she is.  Makes me kind of sad.  Mostly because I remember that feeling and  I know that she can't comprehend how fleeting these days are.  That one day she will be grown and then she will long for this time back.  An endless vicious cycle we live......constantly wanting to go to a different place....whether it's one we've already been to or one we are waiting to approach.  But I digress!  Todd had a meeting at church that lasted way too long and left me feeling very unchristian like about the situation.  But then the Lord reminded me that I am blessed to have a husband who loves and serves his Lord.  And that I am also blessed to have a whole night alone with my favorite boy in the whole wide world.  Only the boy was sick and irritable and not much fun to be around making it impossible for me to accomplish the list of things that I needed to do. Luckily Friday night finally ended (here's a great example of that wanting to go to a different place thing that I mentioned earlier).  Saturday morning Todd and PawPaw went to pick up my new furniture.....Yay!  Cole and I headed to the doctor.  Todd and Em went to Hartselle to pick up deer meat from the processor and met us back at the house.  We all went to eat lunch together, we took Cole for his first hair cut (he was sporting a mullet that I just could not stand any longer) and then spent the afternoon doing some Halloween shopping followed by a trip to the farmer's market for a pumpkin to carve.  We were going to take a trip to the pumpkin patch but since Cole had a rip roaring ear infection we decided better of it.  There were almost no pumpkins to be had but we managed to find one that was suitable.  We went home for some football food, pumpkin carving and Alabama football.  Sunday we attended church as usual and had some wonderful fellowship with our church family during our monthly meal which takes place the last Sunday of the month.  After lunch Em headed to the farm with Todd and Gramps to cut and haul hay.  Cole Baby took a nap and I enjoyed some telephone time with my momma.  Which doesn't happen near enough.....phone time with my momma that is. That evening I made chili and we spent some time at our house eating dinner with Nana and Gramps.  It turned out to be a wonderful weekend.  Even after my nasty attitude of Friday night God gave me a wonderful weekend full of memories.  Hum, wonder why that is?

Hugs,
Keely

Look at that baby! He did so
good.  Just sat in his daddy's lap
and took it like a big boy!

Here looking like he is not
quite so sure about this.

This is not a good picture but it was taken on my phone.
I am a slacker momma and usually not prepared for
anything so you guessed it.....battery on the camera
was DEAD! So this one is a tad blurry but you see the
pumpkin and all of us.  Look at Cole's shirt!  My sweet friend
Keeli made it for him.  She is so talented and I just love her!
