Peas and Carrots: Cole Michael Stewart Has Arrived!

Our sweet little man made his grand entrance into the world two weeks early on Monday, September 12th at 1:43 pm. He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and 20 inches long.
I was scheduled for an OB appointment that morning at 8:00 am. As I was leaving to take Em to school I felt my first contraction but thought, "surely, this is not the real thing". After all I had big plans for the next couple of weeks.......still a few things to do in the nursery, pack Emily's bag for Nana's house, several (to say the least) things to accomplish at work and get my toenails done. The last was to be done immediately following the doctor appointment. It's kind of ironic because Todd had told me all weekend that they would keep me at the hospital when I went on Monday. And I of course kept telling him that there was no way that was happening because I was going to get me toenails painted. Little did I know but my little boy had different plans for his momma. After lab work, a non stress test, an ultrasound and an exam my doctor ask how I felt about having a baby today. By this point my contractions were pretty regular and I knew I was in labor so this was no surprise to me. Up to Labor and Delivery we went. I called Todd at work at 9:45 and the next 4 hours all seemed to go by very quickly. More lab work, IV's, multiple phone calls and text messages, an epidural and a couple of scary moments during delivery and shortly there after is a lot to absorb in 4 hours. But in the end we have this perfect little person who already consumes my heart!

I know that it has taken me a while to post this blog and put pictures up but I have spent the past two weeks just enjoying my time with Cole and taking it all in. The pictures below are not the best since they were taken on my phone but at least it gives everyone a look at my best girl and my two favorite guys! I will post some of the pictures we took soon!
